The German giants, who are poised to surrender their Bundesliga crown to Bayer Leverkusen this season, are due at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday for the first leg of a heavyweight quarter-final clash with Premier League opposition.

Harry Kane was on target again in that contest, as the England international reached 38 goals for the season, but the former Tottenham striker may have a new boss calling the shots when returning to the familiar surrounds of north London.

Bayern legend Matthaus believes change could be on the cards in Bavaria, telling : “Last week's embarrassing performance against Dortmund and today's result says a lot. Thomas Tuchel can no longer reach the team, he gives strange press conferences and makes strange statements. I could imagine that Bayern will react in the next 24 to 48 hours, Because it can't continue like this. The team needs a new impulse somehow and Thomas Tuchel can no longer give it.”

WHAT NEXT FOR BAYERN?
Bayern have suffered six defeats in the league this season, while also crashing out of domestic cup competition and – with Tuchel already announcing that he will be stepping down at the end of the season – the Champions League now presents the only route to major silverware for Kane and Co at the Allianz Arena.
